Some good online video tuts for molding/casting!!

This is pretty cool.... You can download these videos and see how it's done. They go into pretty much detail, but do skip over some steps, and these guys use all the high-tech equipment, vacuum chambers, pressure pots. Still, the basic procedure and materials will be the same as you'd use without the tech-toys. I already downloaded the simple one-piece mold tut and the clear silicone one, pretty decent stuff. Especially the clear silicone one... there were a lot of techniques that were completely new to me. Check it out: http://www.freemansupply.com/video-casting.htm They have some other video tutorials too, and there's a CD-Rom that has all the videos on it that you can get for free if you get one of their sample kits of materials. I didn't look into how to order those yet... but it might be worth finding out.

For small molds you can make a vacuum chamber from a food storage container. Also, somewere on the web (but probably in polish, i don't have time now to look for it) is a tutorial on how to vacuform plastic sheets using a vacuum cleaner and self made vacu-table. There are also methods to imitate pressure pots at home (but for very small objects only)
