It has been forever sense I have last been here!
Well, when I have been doing some of my test-shots, I've found some pretty cheap ways of making things look high-tech....
-BB Gun C02 cartriges, about 40 cents each, make perfect holding tanks and cryo tubes.
-PVC pipe, you guys probably already use this, but over here it comes very cheap, and with some metalic paint, it works like a charm.
-BB Gun pellets, paint these brass, and I find they look awesome as bullet shells (for war scenes possibly, a pack is maybe $2).
-Medical Persription Bottles, Crazy? Sad? Angry? Sick? No matter, once these are empty I love to use them for Embryonic tanks.
-GlowSticks, Can you say kick arse reactors? I can.
-Jurassic park figures.... You won't belive the cool stuff these things come with.
Anyways, its good to see you guys, and to let you know i'm not out of stopmo nor am I dead....;-)

thanx for the advice! i am brand new here, but ive made a few modest attempts at set building. i usually go with stuff thats extremely light on construction aesthetics, tho!;-) for a more in-depth look i usually try to commission a more skilled set builder, as i am not convinced i can pull one off on the level of someone more talented in that area. a friend in florida put together two fantastic sets for me that i am going to utilize in my next animated project. i have had them under my hat for some time, but i will try to post some pics soon!

Your really that sniper in DC killing all those people arent you? J/K
Hey for high tech lights I thought a lot of people would be interested in the electro luminescent lights I sell on my site.
You can string this stuff through plastic models, or use it as a light saber, or use it to make fire glowing effects and more. Not many people have bought any though, so maybe it is too specialized of a thing to be selling. For me though I plan to use it on some of my own films, specifically the next Plum Crazies I make. There are lots of sci-fi effects you can use it for.

Only 11 bucks, not bad! Some of that stuff looks appealing, maybe I can strike a deal with my dad to get something offline..
