snow on the ground

i am now working on my first short film (the tall grass was for the feature) now i already figured out how to make it look snowing, several plixi glass peices with snow painted on placed between the set and the camera altenated between them. but what should i use for snow on the ground i will have characters walking through it so i need to have a trail formed. i was thinking of using baby powder are there any thing else you can think of.

Look through old posts on this thread. (While you are looking you might see a few about grass as well! ;) ) Here's one from page 4, with links to other older posts on the same topic. Some have photos I think. http://www.stopmotionanimation.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=21&topic_id=1598&mesg_id=1598&page=4
