set size?

Hi everybody, I am about to plan the sets for my third more serious stop mo, and I'm wondering if anybody could have an opinion about the size of it? I'm a bit worried that it might be too small to work with. The size of it is, as it looks right now, 60 (lenght) x 40 (width) x 50 (height) cm. The thing is that I want the feeling of the scene to be a bit claustrophobic. what do you think? Am I doing a mistake by building the set this small? The puppets are about 23 cm tall. Thanks! /Sandra

Hi Sandra, look at my Blog-site www.blitzunddorner.de I`m sorry the site is in german, but I think you can see and read my set dimensions. If not: My set is 100cm x 80cm (depth) and had a working-high of 100 cm. My puppet ist 25 cm (= 9,5 -10 inch), so the scale is about 7:1. So I think your size of the set is fine. greetings alpenmolch

Alpenmolch, That is a nice overhead camera mover you have built. I can see the side to side motion seems to be controled with a threaded rod. Does the into and away from motion to the stage have the same control? I don't read German but still enjoyed the photos - Well done! Mark

Hi Mark, yes, the move into and away to the stage (the set) will also realised with a threaded rod. At the moment yet without threaded rods and the tracks for this axis are only fixed with clamps for tests. Next week I will finished the motion control and when you are interesting I can send you some photos. Time by time I will write new items in my blog and I will reported a complete StopMo-Production until the end of this year. greetings from germany alpenmolch
