Hat Storeroom Set!
I haven't visited for a while so, its good to be back on the board! I'm still trudging slowly along with 'Mr Haten Bugleperp & The Great Hat Heist' for which my deadline is 20th of February. so I'm on the last leg of filming. I'm just in the process of building a new set. The set is going to be a rather seedy hat store room. I've just completed the walls
which are quite old and dirty looking peeling wallpaper...
I'd love to hear your comments on it, or any ideas on how to improve it!
It's going to be filled with hat boxes, but I'm trying to think of any little things I could put on the wall, just to break it up a bit.
I'm about to start making the flooring which is going to be old looking boards, I'm going to lay them, then heavily weather them to make them look old and dilapidated. I've just cut the lengths I'm going to use:
So, any comments are extremely welcome. I'm just wanting to share my current tasks with this amazing board!
Thanks in advance!

Wow, that looks great! So much character.
Hmm..... about stuff to put in the room, the only thing that popped into my head right off the bat is... pictures of hats! Might be a bit too Wallace and Gromit though, I don't know.

Thanks for your comment! I really do want the storeroom to have a lot of character, so I'm very pleased to hear it has already!
With regards to the pictures of hats, I was thinking about it and I don't think it would look to Wallace and gromity, if I had them all very old and peeling, and if I picked the right sort of pictures.
I think if I get some poster like that, which I already have actually got plastered all over Mr Haten Bugleperps cellar before. I think it may work!
So thanks for your suggestion, I'm really pleased you like it!
Any other suggestions and/or comment would be really great!!

I Like your set so far. Y'know it can be hard making things look "aged" sometimes, but you did a good job at giving the impression of age without over-doing it. I guess my only constructive criticism I can give to you is to make more walls and perhaps make them removable. I'm not sure if you've thought of this and left that idea out because you need a specific shot and that's it. Sometimes I make small sets of a specific area because I know I will only need a small area to focus on for the particular scene. That's what my "classroom set" is and I have a feeling that's what you're doing with this "hat shop" set as well.
I'm actually just finishing up one of my last sets , it is supposed to take place "in a nightmare". It's a bit random but it looks rad so far and i'll definately have to post some pics of it sometime this week. Keep us all posted on how yours is going too!!

Good set - what really makes it is having the actual strips of wallpaper peeling off.
